Smart Casual Work Wear Outfits

Working at a car dealership, our dress code is business casual; which means I have a good amount of options on what I’m allowed to wear (just no jeans!). I love mixing high and low end pieces to help elevate an outfit. This is a snap shop of this weeks outfits and they are all petite friendly.

Blouse XSP | Pants 0P | Belt 70cm | Shoes 6

I’m wearing a pair of mid rise linen Sloan pants from Banana Republic, a sleeveless black blouse from Old Navy, Gucci belt and Sam Edelman midi heel sandals. Tucking in the shirt and the mixture of fabrics (linen, crepe, and leather), help keep the outfit interesting and polished.

Pants 0P | Blouse XSP | Pumps 6

I’m wearing navy blue high rise pixie pants and a sleeveless blouse from Old Navy. This top is available, but not in this print, so I listed the same exact sleeveless top but in a a black/white leopard print, but it also comes in black. Then I wore my favorite nude 12 – hour Madison pumps from Banana Republic.

V-neck top + high rise pants + nude pointed toe pumps = Perfect Petite Outfit!

Shirt Dress 2 | Sandals/Heels 6

Here, I’m wearing an olive green shirt dress with a tie waist from Old Navy, with a pair of nude Sam Edelman mid heel sandals. Unfortunately, this dress is unavailable, but I found an almost exact dupe, so I listed that above. This is the easiest outfit ever, no thinking involved! I love it because the tie waist accentuates my petite curves and the nude heels helps create the illusion of longer legs.

Dress XSP | Belt S | Pumps 6 | Tote O/S

Another timeless and minimal outfit. An all black monochrome look with a pop of animal print.

Petite Fashion Rule 101: Break them all!

Hello loves, Welcome to the blog! I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying what we have left of summer.

As a petite woman, my best advice when ordering online is to make sure to know your body measurements. Please see the “About Me” tab in the menu, if you’d like more information on mine. There are many optical illusions and techniques that I will be sharing to help you achieve the look of a taller and slimmer frame. Really, who doesn’t want to look less frumpy?

To start, I tucked in my top to accentuate my smallest area, my waist. These white distressed jeans are from Abercrombie & Fitch, and they are the ‘Ripped Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jeans‘. I got these in a 25 Short inseam, and they hit at my ankle perfectly. A mid or high rise pant will help will elongate the legs and help make you appear taller. I’ve been gravitating more towards straight leg and wide leg pants recently, but I still love my skinny jeans. I know as a petite, a “rule” is to avoid oversized clothing… but lets forget about that. In the next few days I will show you how I play with my proportions to make it look chic. I also added a comfortable pair of block heels to add a little bit of height, because I will take every inch I can get!

“A good friend knows all your best stories, but a best friend has lived them with you” -Unknown

This all started as an idea. A few years ago we went out for dinner and drinks – to de stress from the work day. The restaurant we went to happened to be doing trivia that night and we decided to play along. We had to come up with a group name… Since we are both Italian and petite, we came up with Petite Tomatoes. Ever since then, we have consistently talked about starting a fashion blog, and with her encouragement, it’s become a reality. So please bare with me as I get started… Its going to be a challenge, but she gave me the kick in the butt I needed. I’d love it if you’d follow me on Instagram @petite.tomatoes (that’s where I post my ‘outfit of the day). and be sure to check out my friend Erika on Instagram @fortheloveofturquoise_ as she is starting her own blogging journey as well! You might be seeing this beauty on the blog, so stay tuned!
